Course: This course will supplement the concealed carry licensee or citizen's handgun training with gunfighting skills based on the Modern Technique of the Pistol. This is an introductory level course, directed toward the person with little to no defensive handgun training. It is a self -defense oriented class, rather than a recreational shooting course. Course material includes practical marksmanship, ballistics, gunhandling, continuity of fire, malfunction clearance, mental conditioning for combat, use of cover / concealment, low-light shooting and more.

Equipment:
Each student will need to bring a pistol with a holster suitable for daily wear and a carrier system for spare ammunition (at least two spare magazines or speed loaders). A flashlight with a push-button switch will be needed, and knee and elbow pads may be useful. Bring concealment carry gear if possible, but bring what you would use daily, not competition gear. Loose casual clothing is needed. Wrap-around eye protection and hearing protection are mandatory for all attendees.

Ammunition:
300 rounds of full-power ammunition is a minimum.

Hours: 08:00 to 17:00 both days. There will be a night shoot at dusk on
day two, range rules permitting.
